Love Does…

God’s Promises to us I AM With You.

“Child of God, you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit

and marked with the cross of Christ forever.”

GOD PROMISES

       God gives you new birth,

       God delivers you from sin

       God raises you to eternal life. 

God calls, claims and send you Child with these words…

Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Parent and Sponsors promise to…

live with them among God's faithful  people,

bring them to the word of God and the holy supper,

teach  them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the 10 Commandments,

place in their hands the holy scriptures,

support them in faith and prayer,

so that they may learn

to     trust God,

        proclaim Christ through word and deed,

        care for others and the world God made,

        workfor justice and peace.

People of God -

to nurture these persons in the Christian faith

to support and pray for themin their life in Christ?

When we are Confirmed we claim these promises as our own…

to live among God’s faithful people,

to  share the word of God and share in the Lord’s supper,

to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed,

to serve all people, following the example of Jesus,

and to work  for justice and peace in all the earth?

We welcome you into the Lord’s family.  We receive you as a fellow member of the body of Christ, a child of the same heavenly Father, and worker with us in the kingdom of God.

PRAYER
Stir up in ________ the gift of your Holy Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence, both now and forever.

Love Does - Faith comes alive when we DO the Love of God.

Promises to teach and learn the Christian faith; promises to attend worship; promises to receive the Lord’s Supper, and promises to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the world. By keeping this promise you’ll say, “God loves me and I’m going to stand up and let the world know I love God, too.”
