Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Fall is upon us! I am so excited to share some the opportunities that are in store for us as a community of faith.

Our Fall Focus:   The Greatest Story

Over the next three months we are going to step away from lectionary readings to explore the Bible together as a congregation in worship and in our homes as individuals and families.  This series will give us a chance to get familiar with Bible, its stories, and how these stories connect with our personal stories.  If you are familiar with the Bible this is an opportunity for you to hear these familiar stories again…maybe in a different way…. If you are intimidated by this book called the Bible this is an opportunity for you to get more familiar with the book… its an opportunity for all of us to hear, experience, and engage in THE GREATEST STORY of all —the story of God’s love for God’s creation… God’s people… us.

As part of The Greatest Story  we will present  ALL Sunday School students with a new  Bible.  This is an opportunity for us as a congregation to bless our students, to keep promises we made at baptism and support our families in sharing God’s word with their children.  Through out our Greatest Story focus kids, families, and individuals will be invited to bring their Bibles to church and engage in these stories in their very own Bibles.

          God’s Work Our Hands

On September 11, we celebrate our Rally Sunday - Sunday School kick off joining other ELCA churches in “God’s work. Our hands Sundy.” This is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.

We will gather together in worship - kick of the Sunday School year and then be sent from worship to go serve our community together in a service project together and then join back for a lunch at the church at noon.  This is an opportunity for all to serve in the community and be seen as church in action making a difference in our community.  This is a day of service for all abilities.  Join us for worship and then join us as we go out in the community and spruce up the our community together.   We need abilities of all sorts…please plan on being part of this day…get a free t-shirt and help others see God at work in the community.

I look forward to seeing you September 11th as we learn, serve and grow in faith with each other through the events of the day and through out the year.

Blessings and Peace!

Pastor Krista
